Vintage oversized matte-finish 11.5 x 14.75 photo of King George V and Mary of Teck posing together in their royal attire, affixed to the original mount, signed in the lower border in ink, "George R. I., Delhi, Dec'br, 12th, 1911" and "Mary." Matted and framed to an overall size of 15 x 18.25, with reverse bearing a Herzog & Higgins label. In fine condition, with light silvering to the perimeter of the image. The coronation of King George V and Mary of Teck as Emperor and Empress of India occurred at Delhi’s Coronation Park between December 7-16, 1911; the celebration was so lavish and so immense that a documentary film, With Our King and Queen Through India, was released in February 1912, although all but two reels of the film are now deemed lost.
