Description

LS signed "Henry Irving," written in the hand of his secretary, Dracula author Bram Stoker, two pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 8, Lyceum Theatre letterhead, October 20, 1892. Stoker writes, in part: "Pray convey to Mr. Jules…my thanks for the honor which he has done me in asking me to contribute to his paper. I am sorry however that it isn't in my power to meet his wishes." In fine condition. Stoker worked as business manager for Henry Irving's world-famous Lyceum Theatre in London between 1879 and 1898, where he supplemented his income by writing a large number of sensational novels—his most famous being the vampire tale Dracula, published in 1897.
