Desirable original vintage glossy 6.5 x 4.25 silver gelatin photograph of John McGraw (left) and Harry Davis (center) receiving instructions from the umpires before Game 1 of the 1911 World Series. Reverse bears a Keystone View Co. credit label. Taped by its edges to a cardstock mount and in very good to fine condition, with light edge rippling, and loss to three corner tips. Although McGraw's New York Giants would take Game 1 in a pitcher's duel between Christy Mathewson and Chief Bender, Davis's Philadelphia Athletics would go on to win the series in six games. A desirable, early baseball photograph.
