Lieut. Gov. Colden on the death of Sir Henry Moore, the Townshend Acts, and regulation of "Trade with the Indian Nations"

Broadside entitled "The Speech of the Honorable Cadwallader Colden, Esq; His Majesty’s Lieut. Governor, and Commander in Chief of the Colony of New-York, and the Territories depending thereon in America. To His Majesty’s Council, and the General Assembly of the Colony of New-York, On the 22d of November, 1769.” Printed by Hugh Gaine in New York. Addressing the recent death of the “Governor in Chief” for the Province of New York [Sir Henry Moore, 1st Baronet (1713 - 11 September 1769) was a British colonial leader who served as governor of Jamaica and as royal Governor of Province of New York from 1765 to 1769]. Townshend Acts. “There is now the greatest probability that the late Duties imposed by the Authority of Parliament, which have operated so much to the Dissatisfaction of the Colonies in general, will be taken off in the ensuing session.” Regulation of the “Trade with the Indian Nations” shall in the future be left to the Colonies. Quartering Act in New York: Colden called for the appropriation of monies “for furnishing his Majesty’s Troops with Necessaries.”
