Handwritten letter to country singer Lorrie Morgan, in part: "You are so beautiful to me… At one time those were only words, but that was before I knew you. When I first saw you I was so attracted by your physical beauty… but the more I got to know you I found a truly beautiful person… Lorrie you have a depth of character that goes far beyond anyone I've ever known. I know this hasn't been easy on you and for that I truly apologize. I promised you at the beginning I would never hurt you, and I have… please forgive me… When you look back on this please try to remember the good times because they were great…I miss you now…And I'm sure it will only get worse… There are so many things about you I will miss…Your beautiful smile that always melted me because I knew you were happy! Those eyes… in which at times I saw so much happiness and at times so much pain. God do I miss looking into your eyes. I miss so much the way you touched me, and touching you. What I think I miss most is your undying love and how sure you were that you would love me for the rest of my life (completely, passionately and without reservations). What more could anyone ask for…I am so empty inside right now—I wish you could be here to hold me. Lorrie, promise me you'll make me proud of you, both professionally and personally. You have so much talent, and there were so many 'tricks' I didn't get to tell you—maybe someday. I know you'll find someone who'll be everything you want and need because good people attract good people—please wait for him—he's worth it and God knows you're worth it. Promise me—no hitchhiking…it's so dangerous and in your case so unnecessary. Please remember…you will always be 'my baby'—and you must at all costs save me a little piece of your heart. One of my great treasures is knowing…you love me more than anything in this world—and that I was truly precious to you—It brings me great pleasure to know that you were 'exclusively' mine that meant a lot to me. Please know you are always on my mind…and I love you so much it hurts me." He pens a verse as a postscript: "And when you go / And you will go / Part of my heart will go with you / And when you dream— / I'll come to you— / And you will hold me close / And know I love you— / Still." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope and a certificate of authenticity from 'Raiders of Rock' co-host Stephen M. Shutts, stating that this was acquired from the contents of a storage unit once owned by Lorrie Morgan and Sammy Kershaw.
