ALS in pencil, signed “Bill,” one page both sides, 5 x 8, no date. Letter written from prison to Marrion Anderson, mother of his protege Bratto Anderson. In part: "Your nice letter just arrived with Bratto's letter & it was swell…The Babe's scores sound to me as if he was hitting the ball very well & I'm delighted for I know we can do a job. I'm so pleased you both feel Bratto gets something out of our Sunday visits. God knows I do & try to make it valuable to him too. I'll be delighted to know you got a chance at the book before Sunday." In fine condition.
