Western Union telegram sent by Robert F. Kennedy, two pages, 8 x 5.75, May 29, 1968. On the campaign trail, Kennedy thanks a supporter in Newport, Rhode Island. In part: "My primary campaigns in Oregon and California prevent me from personally greeting you this evening at your State Committee meeting in Providence, but I would like to extend my good wishes for a very successful meeting. I need the state of Rhode Island's help in my campaign and ask for your support when you choose your delegates to the National Convention this evening. I solicit your support now and in the months to come so that together we can achieve unity, understanding and a renewed national purpose for our country." In fine condition, with intersecting folds. Accompanied by a Western Union envelope.
