Two items: a TLS signed "Oscar Hammerstein," one page, 8.25 x 5.25, personal letterhead, April 7, 1960, to Sylvia Schulman, concerning a brief biography to be published as part of a philanthropic program, in part: "Yes, the last shows, 'Flower Drum Song' and 'Sound of Music,' should be included in the last shows. As a matter of fact, I think Mr. Rodgers should have a picture and an account of his own if he is to share this donation with me…Perhaps you can attend to this"; and a Williamson Music Inc. check, 8.25 x 3, filled out in another hand and signed by Rodgers, "Richard Rodgers," payable to "Est. of Oscar Hammerstein II" for $33,754.63, February 14, 1979. In very good to fine condition, with splitting to the ends of the horizontal fold of the Hammerstein letter.
