Manuscript vellum DS, signed “William R.,” one page, 13.5 x 8.5, April 7, 1697. King William appoints John Mussage to be "Adjutant to the Regiment of Foot…by our Trusty & Welbeloved Colonel Thomas Brudenell." Signed in the upper portion by the king, and countersigned in the lower right by Charles Talbot, 1st Duke of Shrewsbury. Lower left bears the original blue paper seal, with red wax seal no longer present. In very good condition, with overall rippling, missing seal, and staining to the top and right edges.
