Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 12 x 9, May 1818. President Monroe grants a parcel of land in the Territory of Illinois to a military veteran. In good to very good condition, with heavy soiling, a few tiny holes, missing seal, and the handwritten body faded and difficult to read; Monroe's signature is comparatively clean and unaffected by the document's flaws.
