"When President Reagan called me on January 9th he said, 'Congratulations on celebrating your 39th birthday'—demonstrating again his unfailing good humor and thoughtfulness"

TLS signed “RN,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, January 11, 1984. Letter to Arnold Stark, in part: "When President Reagan called me on January 9th he said, 'Congratulations on celebrating your 39th birthday'—demonstrating again his unfailing good humor and thoughtfulness. Your cheesecake helped immensely in my efforts to think young even though the calendar told me I was getting old." He adds a handwritten postscript, "No one has been—for all these years—more faithful, thoughtful & generous." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
