Sayers,” one page both sides, 5 x 8, personal letterhead, February 12, 1935. Letter to Mr. Hopkins, in part: "This is just to say: 1) That the Detective Club Dinner on Dec. 11th, Wednesday, takes place at Keltner's…2) That lunch on Tuesday 10th is quite all right for me…3) It has occurred to me that 'that blessed word Mesopotamia' may quite possibly have been first altered in the pages of 'Punch.' If you haven't tried that source it might be worth a search…Another phrase we want to know the origin of, crying 'Quey, Punch?' is—'Ere's a stranger—'eave 'arf a brick at 'im.' And who said something was 'wrop in mystery'?" In very good to fine condition, with creasing to the top and bottom edges, and a short split to the central horizontal fold.
