Film comedian (1889-1928) during the silent era, once considered a 'Comedy King,' but now mainly remembered for working with both Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Semon is also known for directing, as well as appearing, in the 1925 silent film The Wizard of Oz. Vintage matte-finish 5 x 7 photo of Semon in a pleasant formal pose, signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen, "To Helen, with lots of 'Success,' Larry Semon.” In very good condition, with irregular silvering and spotting, and moderate signature contrast.
