Description

American politician (1753-1813) who served as both attorney general and secretary of state in George Washington's cabinet. Brief third-person ALS, signed within the text, “E. Randolph,” one page, 8 x 9.75, June 29, 1795. Letter to John Nicholson, in full: "E. Randolph begs the favor of his friend Mr. Nicolson [sic] to answer his note of two or three days ago—The vessel sails tomorrow." In very good to fine condition, with light ink offsetting, three dings (and a related short tear) to the left edge, and seal-related paper loss to the integral address leaf.
