Scarce free franked mailing envelope, 4.75 x 3, addressed in Dolley Madison's hand to her sister-in-law, "Miss Rebecca Todd, Walnut above Schuylkill 7th St., Philadelphia," and franked in the upper right, "Free D. P. Madison." Postmarked October 12, no year. In very good to fine condition, with light soiling, a light stain the the address area, and some old tape to a seal-related tear on the back.
