Two autograph letters by Queen Victoria, plus ephemera related to her coronation:
Third-person ALS in her difficult-to-decipher hand, signed twice within the text, “The Queen,” one page both sides, 4.5 x 7, personal monogrammed mourning stationery, May 14, 1861. In fine condition, with three horizontal folds.
Third-person ALS, signed within the text, "The Queen," one page, 4.5 x 7.25, black-bordered royal letterhead, August 24, 1841. In full: "Windsor Castle, Aug: 24th, 1841, The Queen doth wish to have this Draft back again." In fine condition.
Accompanied by two items related to Queen Victoria's coronation: an issue of The Globe and Traveller newspaper from the day of Queen Victoria's coronation, June 28, 1838, four pages, 16.75 x 24, featuring a headline in the third column, "Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Victoria This Day," with an article containing a description of "The State of the Metropolis This Morning"; and a printed two-page pamphlet, 8 x 13.5, featuring large text on the title page, "The Earl Marshal's Orders concerning The Robes, Coronets, &c. which are to be worn by the Peers and Peeresses at The Coronation of Her Most Sacred Majesty Queen Victoria," describing the types and colors of the clothing to be worn by the Royalty in attendance at the coronation. In overall very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds and small separations to both accompanying pieces, and an ownership inscription at the head of the newspaper.
