One of the final test issues produced by Topps were the 1979 Topps Comics. Similar to the 1974 set of the same name, these individual comics included a color drawing of the player plus several blocks of player information. These comics were to be wrapped around a piece of bubble gum acting as an internal wrapper, but were not widely distributed. These 10 sets of 33 comics are each comprised of three 11-comic uncut strips. Players included were most of the major stars of the day, including: Eddie Murray, Jim Rice, Carl Yastrzemski, Nolan Ryan, George Brett, Rod Carew, Reggie Jackson, Ron Guidry, Phil Niekro, Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, Tom Seaver, and Dave Winfield. Overall in EX-MT to NM condition.
