Handwritten manuscript signed by Timothy Pickering within the text in the third-person, one page, 8 x 13.25, September 15, 1790. Receipt issued to Samuel Wood for payments from December 12 and 30, 1783, which reads, in part: "I certify that Timothy Pickering late QM appointed the above mentioned D. Nevin on behalf of the United States, & approved of the award delivered him Signed & Stated by Daniel Nevin & Leonard Nicoll, Also that said Quarter Master General appointed John J. Skidmore late Deputy Wagon Master to view the farm of Sam'l Wood...destroyed by the American Army in order to Estimate the Damages Done." In fine condition.
