Graded by SGC GOOD 2. The fragility of the card makes it one of the most difficult issues to obtain in high grade, as these 'die-cut' Scrapps cards are paper-based (not cardboard) and were manufactured to be glued in scrapbooks, hence the name Scrapps. The die-cut nature leads the cards to be susceptible to creasing and/or tears at the neck area. Cards were issued for the two league champions—the Detroit Wolverines and St. Louis Browns—with this example of HOFer Dan Brouthers being free of creasing and tears, with the only blemish a half-inch stain on the verso, which is barely noticeable on the front. One very minor chip appears on the left shoulder of Brouthers, with nary any other faults.
