American country musician (1909-1978) who is best known as a member of the historic Carter Family act in the 1920s and 1930s and also as a member of Mother Maybelle and the Carter Sisters; the mother of June Carter Cash. American Federation of Musicians contract in which Mother Maybelle Carter agrees to play two shows at the Dallastown, Pennsylvania Fair on August 5, 1965, for a sum of $550. Signed at the conclusion in blue ballpoint by Carter, with another hand adding notations above. In fine condition, with paper loss to the upper left corner.
