Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 17 x 14, February 2, 1888. President Cleveland appoints Henry P. Markham as "Postmaster at East Hampton, in the County of Middlesex, State of Connecticut." Signed at the conclusion by Cleveland, and countersigned by Postmaster General Donald M. Dickinson. Gold post office seal with red ribbons remains affixed to lower left. In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds, light staining, and overall wrinkling.
