Original vintage 1981 glossy 8 x 10 silver gelatin photo of Diana taken the day before Buckingham Palace announced the engagement of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer on February 24, 1981. Reverse bears a Keystone Press Agency Ltd copyright stamp and affixed caption. In fine condition, with a couple scuffs to surface. Charles had actually proposed to Diana three weeks earlier during a private dinner, but the engagement remained mum until the announcement on February 24th. This ended months of speculation that Prince Charles would take her as his royal bride, and planning for the hotly anticipated wedding commenced. From the Globe Photo archives.
