(Walt Disney Studios, 1942) Original production cels featuring Bambi and Thumper's sisters from Bambi, showing them in a serene woodland setting, signed and inscribed on the original 18.5 x 16.5 mat in green crayon, "To H. Albert DeWit, with my best wishes, Walt Disney." The cels have been trimmed and applied to a hand-painted background as prepared by Courvoisier Galleries for sale (reverse does not feature the Courvoisier label); unfortunately, the cels for Bambi and the leftmost bunny have since become separated from the background, upon which much of their original cel paint remains. Character images measure 2.75 x 3.75 and 2.25 x 2.25, with a mat opening of 10.75 x 8. The mat itself is in fine condition, with toning to edges from its prior display; the cel display, however, is in good to very good condition, with the aforementioned separation of cels (which are still present), peeling to the other Bunny cels, lifting to paint, and areas of adhesive residue. A skilled hand could help restore this presentation to its past glory, which, of course, is made special by its bold Disney autograph.
