Letter to Senate Secretary Asbury Dickins, in part: “There is a depth to our sorrow which no human voice can reach, but kind words of sympathy will alleviate my affliction in my home made desolate and again I thank you. Dear Ms. H left us calm as the setting sun which shed its light upon her, and without a struggle she passes to her last repose and with a resignation and faith in the mercy and goodness of God truly wonderful.” In fine condition. After his first wife, Sarah Jane Emery, passed away in 1855, Hamlin married her half-sister, Ellen Hamlin, a year later. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
