Description

Inscribed to the FBI’s deputy director

Color semi-glossy 9.25 x 7.75 photo of J. Edgar Hoover speaking at the White House’s Rose Garden on May 8, 1964, an event which honored his 40th year as the FBI Director, signed and inscribed in the lower border in black ink, “To Deke De Loach, with high regard and best wishes, Lyndon B. Johnson.” Matted and in fine condition, with light scuffing to the image, and apparently mounted to a heavier cardstock. DeLoach worked at the FBI for nearly thirty years and, in 1965, was promoted by Hoover to the lofty position of Deputy Director. During his tenure, DeLoach was a lead investigator in both the Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr., assassinations. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
