Jimi Hendrix,” and a pencil signature, “Love, Mitch, x,” on the reverse of an off-white 3.25 x 5.75 flyer for the infamous Blue Moon Club in Cheltenham, England. In fine condition, with scattered light creasing. Accompanied by a modern photo of Hendrix. Consignor notes that the signatures were obtained on February 11, 1967, during the band’s stop at the Blue Moon Club, one of many small clubs Hendrix and the Experience would play when they weren’t recording their debut album at London’s Olympic Studios; many advertisements from this time period spelled Hendrix’s first name as ‘Jimmie,’ indicating his still underground musical status. Are You Experienced would release just three months later to widespread critical acclaim, jump-starting the Jimi Hendrix global phenomenon.
