British banker and politician (1840–1915), the 1st Baron Rothschild, from the international Rothschild financial dynasty. Three-language partly-printed DS, signed “N. M. Rothschild, Contractor” along the right edge of the first page, one page, both sides, 9.5 x 14. A bond for a Russian 5% Loan of 1822. Both sides bear an embossed seal with the legend “Russian Loan 1822 contracted by N. M. Rothschild.” In fair condition (as is typical for examples of this document), with soiling, folds, tears and chips (one slightly affecting signature), and a few complete separations (some with tape repairs).
