Noted film director (1918–1983) known for classics like The Dirty Dozen, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, and The Longest Yard. TLS signed “Bob,” one page, 8.5 x 11, The Associates & Aldrich Company letterhead, July 16, 1962. Letter to H. N. Swanson. In part: “Enclosed please find a treatment of ‘Love and Pesedas.’ I don’t know if this is some kind of perverted joke or not, but I do know it will be a long time before I again rush to read a piece of material submitted by you while I am in the middle of very difficult rehearsals. Either we have grown far, far apart on material or someone in your office forgot to put in the last two acts. Thanks but no thanks.” In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
