Original unused ticket from Hendrix’s August 16, 1968, concert at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. General admission ticket measures 3.5 x 1.5, for “on the grass,” and had an original price of $3.00. In fine condition. Hendrix played a nine-song set, including ‘Are You Experienced,’ ‘Hey Joe,’ ‘Foxy Lady,’ ‘Purple Haze,’ and reportedly his first performance of ‘The Star Spangled Banner.’ He played to a large crowd in the rain, inviting members in the uncovered grass area to move closer under the pavilion.
