Very rare Beatles concert ticket, 3.75 x 2.5, from their April 4, 1963, concert at the Stowe School. Signed on the reverse in black ballpoint by George Harrison, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and Ringo Starr. In very good condition, with scattered creases passing through signatures, light edge wear, mild toning, and a small tear to right edge. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks. The late afternoon live engagement at the all boys school in Stowe was probably one of the groups most unusual yet. The concert was booked as a direct result of a young Liverpudlian boy named David Moores writing to Brian Epstein in January 1963 asking for the group to come to the school. Epstein agreed and on April 4, The Beatles played at the school for a fee of £100. They had travelled from London’s BBC studios for the 5:30 pm concert which took place in the Roxburgh Hall in front of a polite and quite audience of boys. Famed Beatles photographer Dezo Hoffman took a number of photographs on the day which show the group mingling with the students and also performing.
