Flight-flown heat shield remnant removed from the Gemini VIII capsule after its premature return to Earth. Fragment is encased in an acrylic triangle and comes with a wooden plaque (from which acrylic has detached), with a plaque reading “Section of heat shield of Gemini 8, Neil A. Armstrong, David R. Scott, 16 March 1966.” Armstrong and Scott had to cut short their mission and make an emergency return to Earth 10 hours after launch, due to a stuck thruster. RRAuction COA.
