Description

Cline signs for her cousin, affectionately adding her seldom-seen nickname

Popular and distinctive country-and-western “crossover” star (1932–1963) who achieved iconic status upon her death in a plane crash at the age of 30. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 Rush Studio portrait of Cline in a dark dress with a polka-dot collar, signed and inscribed in fountain pen to her cousin Earl Allanson, “To Earl: A great little fellow. Yours always, Love, ‘Ginny’ Patsy Cline.” Accompanied by the original transmittal envelope. In very good condition, with silvering to darker areas of image, light skipping to beginning of inscription, several small edge tears, and some scattered light surface marks and corner creases. This is the first signed photo we have seen where Cline has included her nickname. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
