I shall need him for a short time only, to test whether he can settle seven heifers - six of them very good ones - that have proved to be hard breeders. Within ninety days any that are not safe in calf will be sent to the butcher and the bull re-sold to you on the same terms.” Eisenhower also adds a brief handwritten postscript, “P. S.
