Fifteen engraved certificates issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for claims filed related to “An Act to authorize the liquidation of damages sustained by citizens of Pennsylvania during the late rebellion,” each signed “Jno. W. Geary” [governor who had earlier served as a divisional commander with the 12th Corps at Gettysburg] and “J. G. Hartranft” [state auditor and future governor who was retroactively awarded the Medal of Honor for gallantry at First Bull Run]. In very good to fine condition overall, with scattered mild soiling, and a few certificates with wrinkles, creases, stains, chips, and/or small tears. R&R COA.
