Description

Oversized vintage matte-finish 10.5 x 13.25 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “For: The Honorable Arthur A. Kimball with best wishes and high esteem for a distinguished colleague, Dwight D. Eisenhower.” After working as a budget officer in the War Department during World War II, Kimball (1908-1996) served as Chief of Administration for the American prosecution team at the Nuremberg Trials. He later worked in the State Department, where he assisted George Marshall in the administration of the Marshall Plan. During the Eisenhower administration, Kimball served as acting director of the U.S. Information Agency. Appointed by Ike to the National Labor Relations Board in 1960, the appointment was not confirmed by the Senate, and Kimball went on hiatus from public service to practice law, later serving in various governmental agencies. Kimball’s papers are on deposit at the Eisenhower Library. Matted (the mat with hand-painted flag) and framed to an overall size of 20 x 23. In fine, clean condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
