In full: “It was so very kind of you to have sent me the glorious mass of flowers—they have just arrived and I am thrilled with them, particularly as they make my room smell wonderful! Thank you both very much indeed for thinking of me on my birthday. Yours most sincerely….” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope addressed in Diana’s hand.
