Boldly signed and inscribed in fountain pen on the half-title page, “To Squadron Leader N. Rosenthal, Best wishes, Walt Disney.” Newman Rosenthal, an officer in the Royal Australian Air Force, first met Disney in June of 1945 and obtained the signature when the two had lunch. Rosenthal remained friends with Disney until the latter’s death in 1966, and made a point of visiting with Disney during stateside trips.
