Description

As wartime senator

TLS, one page, 8 x 10.5, U.S. Senate letterhead, January 21, 1943. Truman writes to Captain Rufus Burrus. In full: “Thanks a lot for calling my attention to Men Behind the War. I will try to get a copy. I am glad you have a warm place to stay because as nearly as I can figure you are going to have a terrific cold spell just ahead of you.” After signing, Truman adds a handwritten postscript: “My best to Mrs. B & the boy.” File holes and associated tears at top edge, and mailing fold lightly touching signature, otherwise fine condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
