TLS, one page, 6.25 x 8.5, personal letterhead with gilt-embossed eagle, April 14, 1993. Reagan writes to Helen F. Boehm. In part: “Please accept my warmest thanks for your kindness in sending me the beautiful Boehm porcelain. I hope that it will please you to know that this wonderful piece of art now holds a special place in our home. It was a great pleasure for me to narrate the Horatio Alger Association’s new film, and I am grateful to you for your gracious acknowledgement.” Boehm was the cofounder and chairman of the Boehm Porcelain Studio in Trenton, New Jersey, which earned wide renown for its fine decorative figures. Boehm creations were used as official state gifts on a number of historic occasions, including Nixon’s trip to China in 1972, and the Reagans maintained a large collection of Boehm objects in the private quarters of the White House. In very fine, fresh condition. R&R COA.
