Description

Described as a petite, husky-voiced charmer, she enjoyed a great deal of popularity in the 1930s and early 40s. She gradually went deaf during the last years of her life and committed suicide at age 49. Luminous vintage glossy 8 x 10 soft-focus portrait of the young actress, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Mush.” According to the collector’s notations on the reverse, the signature was obtained at the Vanderbilt’s “New Faces 1936” on June 5, 1936. In fine condition, with scattered faint surface impressions and mild corner bends. R&R COA.
