ALS signed “Geo. Cruikshank,” two pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, personal letterhead, July 2, 1870. Cruikshank invites a friend to a preview. In part, “A model of my design for a monument to ‘King Robert the Bruce’ will be on view next Tuesday afternoon…favor me with a visit upon this occassion it will give me great pleasure.” Cruikshank adds a small sketch of an artist at work to the lower right corner. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Cruikshank’s hand and signed “Geo. Cruikshank,” in the lower left. In fine condition, with scattered toning and soiling to envelope.
