Novelist; On the Road, The Dharma Bums, etc. His nonconformist, unedited style made him the leader and spokesman for the Beat generation. Born Jean-Louis Kerouac, a French-Canadian child in working-class Lowell, Massachusetts, he spoke a local dialect of French called “joual” before he learned English. He died at the age of 47, a result of alcoholism. Personal check, 6.25 x 2.75, filled out and signed by Kerouac, payable to Fischers for $219.95, December 3, 1958. In fine condition, with show through from stamp on reverse lightly affecting signature, paper loss to lower left corner and holes to body. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
