Description

Novelist who based his stories on the adventures he encountered as a prospector, hobo, pirate, gentleman farmer, reformer, and war correspondent. A troubled but gifted writer, in his day, he was the highest-paid writer in America. Terrific lot of five signed checks, all 6.5 x 2.75, filled out and signed in ink by London. The first is made out to F. Bostwick in the amount of 6.00 and is date stamped Jan. 26, 1905. The second is made out to New York News Co. for 2.32 and is date stamped Nov. 15, 1906. The third is made out to Boating in the amount of 1.00 and is date stamped Nov. 18, 1906. The fourth is made out to Rabjohn and Corgan in the amount of 15.00 and is date stamped Dec. 12, 1906. The last check is made out to Daniel Gallagher for 15.00 and is date stamped Dec. 31, 1906. In fine condition, with usual cancellation cuts and stamps, four of the signatures are touched by cancellation stamps, affecting them minimally. Great lot. RRAuction COA.
