French composer (1818-1893) best remembered for his composition of 'Ave Maria.' AMQS on an off-white 10 x 7 musically lined sheet, signed and inscribed in ink, "A Mademoiselle Therese Jadin, Hommage respectueux…Ch. Gounod, Paris, le 23 avril/64." Gounod pens five bars of music and lyrics from the fourth act of his opera Mireille. In fine condition, with uniform toning.
