Letter to Gilbert Darlington, in part: "Your nice invitation was received by me Friday, just as I was going out. I regret that I can not accept because I have a plane reservation for Florida on March 1st. Am off for there at that time, if they have all their winter weather off their chest. My aide is in Washington, recuperating from a bad case of flu." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Halsey's hand and incorporating his signature ("W. F. Halsey") into the return address.
