Letter concerning the casting of the opera 'Le Mage,' in part (translated): "My dear Directors…in your casting, there are some names of artists that I don’t know and that I’ve never heard. How could I choose them?—and, more, you didn’t list those presented for the role of King (Mr. Martapoura), of the prisoner (Mr. Affre), and of the Herald (Mr. Ballard)? Please, can you tell me that a special and extreme care will be taken with the material part of 'Le Mage' and will be worthy of this Opera that people were already talking about it." In fine condition. An opera in five acts, Le Mage premiered at the Paris Opera on March 16, 1891.
