Description

Doors program with a very timely 1960s protest flyer and promo poster

Three items: an original program for the Doors' 1968 'Waiting for the Sun' tour program, 24 pages, 8.75 x 11.5, with contents including printed lyrics, poetry, a wide variety of rare band images of the band, and advertisements for The Doors' first two records, as well as one for Acoustic Amplifiers, which features a great image of Jim Morrison leaning on two large speakers; and an original 20.75 x 33 Elektra Records promotional poster for The Doors single 'The Unknown Soldier,' the first single from the band's 1968 album Waiting for the Sun, with a large iconic image of Morrison by Joel Brodsky. Also included is an original protest flyer that was handed out at the Doors concert for a protest in Washington, D.C. In overall very good to fine condition, with old tape repairs, edge tears, and some paper loss to the poster, and handling wear to the program, with a small separation to upper spine; the protest flyer is in fine condition. This is the only official concert tour program that was ever made for a Doors concert tour and has now become extremely rare, as well as the promotional poster for the 'Unknown Soldier.' It’s quite rare and difficult to find this program in such appealing condition, as most have been folded and have tears, major creasing issues, and/or loose pages.
