Description
Scarce color chemical-based 24 x 20 photo-reproduction of aviation artist Mike Machat’s 1996 painting ‘50 Years of X-Planes,’ which depicts a group of 14 experimental United States aircraft, signed in black felt tip by 16 legendary test pilots, including: Neil Armstrong, Joe Cotton, Scott Crossfield, Bill Dana, Ken Dyson, Frank ‘Pete’ Everest, Fitz Fulton, Steve Ishmael, William J. ‘Pete’ Knight, Don Mallick, John Manke, Tom McMurtry, Kit Murray, Bruce Peterson, Rogers Smith, and Chuck Yeager. Rolled and in fine condition. Consignor notes that all of the signatures were either obtained in person or via the mail by NASA photographer Tony Landis, who personally reproduced Machat's painting with full permission from the artist in 1997.
