Stunning personalized Halcyon Days Enamels gift box presented by Princess Diana to a staff member at the Hotel Arlberg in March 1993. The hand-made and hand-enameled oval box, which measures 2.5 x 1.25 x 2, features 24k gold-plated fittings, with a blue-and-white striped pattern with yellow roses to base and cover, the latter bearing the monogram of Princess Diana and the underside inscribed with cursive text: “Presented by Her Royal Highness, The Princess of Wales.” Bottom of base features the Halcyon Days maker’s mark. Includes the original blue presentation box with the cover featuring the Princess Diana monogram. In fine condition.
Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the recipient: “Princess Diana, Prince William and Prince Harry personally presented me with this gift as a thank you before their departure from Hotel Arlberg in Lech-Austria in March 1993 where they enjoyed their Family Winter Skiing Holidays…My position in Hotel Arlberg at the time of the visits from 1991 to 1994 was Housekeeper/Gouvernante, so I was responsible for their well-being in the rooms/suites/hotel from the time of arrival until departure…I was so touched by the very relaxed, loving family atmosphere that Princess Diana and her sons had in their privacy.”
