Partly-printed certificate, one page, 9.5 x 7.5, no date. Handsomely engraved document for a contribution to fund the Washington Monument, in part: "Frederick H. Brewster, Esqr. has contributed One Dollar in aid of the erection of the Washington National Monument, which entitles him to all the privileges of Membership in the Washington National Monument Society." The certificate bears pre-printed facsimile signatures of Zachary Taylor, George Watterston, and Elisha Whittlesey, and an ink signature of Thomas G. Wilkes. Matted and framed to an overall size of 15.75 x 12.75. In very good to fine condition, with light show-through from old tape on the back of the folds, and damage to the frame.
